Tourists in Nepal increase by 61 percent in July

In July 2026, 71,775 foreign tourists entered Nepal. According to the data released by the Nepal Tourism Board, this number is 2.3 percent more than in July last year. In July 2025, 70,193 foreign tourists came to Nepal.

According to the Tourism Board, the highest number of tourists came from India in July. 23,490 tourists from India came to Nepal. This is 32.73 percent of the total arrivals. The number of tourists coming from China has increased significantly in July. In July 2026, 11,099 tourists from China came to Nepal. This is 61.09 percent more than the 6,890 tourists who came in July the previous year.

In July 2019, 10,215 tourists came from China. Thus, Chinese tourist arrivals have increased by 8.65 percent compared to the pre-COVID situation. Similarly, the United States is in third place. 7,754 tourists came from the United States in July. Similarly, 4,179 tourists from Bangladesh, 3,773 from Britain, and 2,428 from Australia have come to Nepal.

Regionally, the number of tourists coming from South Asian countries is the highest. In July, 29,755 tourists from SAARC countries visited Nepal. In July, 17,424 tourists from Asian countries other than South Asia visited Nepal. In July, 9,279 tourists from Europe visited Nepal. In July, 8,824 tourists from the United States visited Nepal.
