Italian Climber Ernesto Conquers Manaslu in Spectacular Summit


Kathmandu, Nepal; In a stunning achievement, renowned Italian alpinist Ernesto has successfully reached the summit of Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m), the eighth-highest mountain in the world. The climb, completed without compromise, marks another milestone in his mountaineering career.
Mr Ernesto and Mountain guide Mr Lakpa Gelu Sherpa starting from camp 3 at 7000m to reach the summit directly jumping from camp 4 within 10 hours to reached the summit on 23 September at 12pm.
He used normal/stand route from southwest ridge. Ernesto was accompanied by Asian Hiking team’s experienced Sherpa guide Mr. Lakpa Gelu Sherpa, who assisted with logistics and safety while he climbed mostly under his own power. Despite unpredictable weather, including high winds above 7,000 meters, trail conditions permitted the ascent.
He has already done two rotations, first rotation slept two nights in Camp 1 and second rotation touched Camp3 and slept in Camp2. The summit push from base camp to Camp1, Camp 1 to Camp 2, Camp 2 to Camp 3 and ascent Manaslu. Proper acclimatization and strong leadership were critical.

He moved to Manaslu base camp on 26th September from Kathmandu. Tomorrow (25th September), returning to Samagau and will start again for the long trek that will take back to Kathmandu.
