Cholatse (also known as Jobo Lhaptshan) is a mountain in the Khumbu region of the Nepalese Himalaya. Cholatse is connected to Taboche (6,501 m) by a long ridge. The Chola glacier descends off the east face. The north and east faces of Cholatse can be seen from Dughla, on the trail to Mount Everest base camp.

Cholatse was first climbed via the southwest ridge on April 22, 1982, by Vern Clevenger, Galen Rowell, John Roskelley and Bill O'Connor. The north face was successfully scaled in 1984. The first solo ascent was accomplished on April 15, 2005, by Ueli Steck through the north face.

Mt Cholatse climbing is staring the caravan routes fly to Lukla and all the way to Gokyo, climb Gokyo Ri for acclimatization, continues trekking to Cholatse Base Camp and returning from Photse all the way down to Namche and final departure from Lukla. The given itinerary subject to change as your time and interest. You can do Everest base camp come over the Chola pass and push the summit as well. 

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu transfer to hotel overnight in Kathmandu BB).

Day 02: Kathmandu equipment / permit preparation and Kathmandu valley sightseeing, overnight in Kathmandu (BB).

Trekking Start

Day 03: Lukla (fly) trek to Phakding 3.30 hours, overnight at Lodge/Hotel (B/L/D).

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 6 hours, overnight at Lodge/Hotel (B/L/D).

Day 05: Namche Bazaar – Acclimatization day, overnight at Lodge/Hotel (B/L/D).

Day 06: Trek to Dole 6 hours, overnight at Lodge/Hotel (B/L/D).

Day 07: Trek to Machherma 5 hours, overnight at Lodge/Hotel (B/L/D).

Day 08: Trek to Gokyo 4 hours, overnight at Lodge/Hotel (B/L/D).

Day 09: Acclimatization day and climb Gokyo Ri, overnight at Lodge/Hotel (B/L/D).

Day 10: Trek to Thangna 4 hours, overnight at Lodge/Hotel (B/L/D).

Push Climbing

Day 11: Trek to Cholatse Base Camp (5355 m), overnight tented camp (B/L/D).

Day 12: Rest day in Base Camp.

Day 13: Base Camp to Camp I.

Day 14: Camp I to Camp II.

Day 15: Push Summit Cholatse and return to Camp I or Base Camp.

Day 16: Spare day, in case of weather or any cause.

End Climbing

Day 17: Trek to Photse 5/6 hours, overnight at Lodge/Hotel (B/L/D).

Day 18: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3446 m, overnight at Lodge/Hotel (B/L/D).

Day 19: Trek to Lukla 6 hours, overnight at Lodge/Hotel (B/L/D).

End Trekking

Day 20: Fly to Kathmandu transfer to hotel, overnight Kathmandu (BB).

Day 21: Departure to your own way journey or next trip (BB).
